Glad Thursday

Today I'm glad that I finally got around to watching the newest preview for Breaking Dawn!

And OH MY LORD, am I EXCITED!!

I won't even mind sitting awkwardly next to my sister and mom, during the steamy honeymoon scene! LOL

Glad Thursday

Today, I'm glad I woke up and decided it was a Nickel Creek kind of day. It's been years since I've listened to their music, and I'd forgotten how much I loved them.

I would describe their music as Bluegrassy-Folksy-Celtic with a whole lot of awesome. But that's just my opinion. You'll have to form your own.

I hope they get together for another album down the road. In 2007, they had a "Farewell (For Now) Tour" so they could each branch off and explore different things musically. I'm hopeful that since the tour was named what it was, that they will put something together someday. I hope!!

Today's Glad Thursday topic will be in true Pollyanna style. If you've seen the movie, you'll know that Pollyanna takes an unpleasant thing, and turns it into something to be glad about.

Today, I'm still not feeling well and won't be taking my son outside to play. This would usually be a bummer, but here comes the glad game.-----

It's going to be in the stinkin' 90's today and tomorrow, and I'm better off staying inside anyways!

So, I can be glad that I'm a little under the weather and stuck inside, because I absolutely hate the heat!

Today I'm glad that summer is coming to an end, and that the heat and humidity will soon be only a memory. I'll be glad for the bugs to take a hike, and the chances of thunderstorms and tornadoes to greatly diminish.

I've always been a lover of fall, and knowing it's right around the corner makes my soul happy.

Bye Bye Week One!!

Today, I'm glad that the first week of school is almost over! Unlike my kids, my husband and I are not morning people! And this year is extra hectic, since I have two kids in school.

I'm also glad that they both love their teachers, and actually want to go back every day.LOL That's the part that always makes me nervous. If you read my post about my kindergarten year, you'll understand.

Today I'm glad to finally be done with the girl's back to school shopping! I don't mind shopping for the supplies so much, because it takes me back to when I was in their shoes. (Plus I love the smell of school supplies.)

But it's the shopping for clothes thing that I could do without. Thinking back, I've never been a fan of clothes shopping! Is that even allowed being a girl?

Don't get me wrong, I love a new outfit as much as the next girl, but shopping for them can be so tedious!!

So, yay for having my shopping done! Not to mention the girls got their back-to-school hair cuts today, and look adorable.

Today, I'm glad to have a house on a hill, so the kids can have a good time on our homemade slip and slide. Not to mention, a hill to sled down in the winter!

Since this picture was taken, we've added another tarp. Now they can slide down the whole length of the hill.  I have every intention of trying it myself sometime too!!:-)

Today I'm glad to have a house in the country, yet close to town.

We're still able to see nature all around us, look up at the stars at night, and have a camp fire any time we'd like, while still having the luxury of knowing we're only a few miles from most anything we need.

It's how I grew up, and I'm glad my children can experience it also.:)

The Glad Game

One of my favorite Disney movies, is Pollyanna. The story is sweet, and it just makes me feel all warm inside. And I know it's a tad unrealistic, to believe that someone could be that positive about life, ( especially when they're accidentally given crutches, instead of a doll. Oh, and losing all feeling in their legs.) but, I think it's still a wonderful way to look at life.

Not to mention, there's an awesome Grandma on the drums! I mean, just look at her!! Rock on, Grandma!!

(I still laugh with pure joy, every time I see this part!)

I also wouldn't mind attending one of those Bazaars they had on there! Did you see the size of the cake slices they were handing out? Yes please!!

(A shame she didn't get to finish it...)
